In February 2009 Roust will be producing its third series of Shakespeare Classes in New York City. The class is given by Roust's Artistic Director, James Phillip Gates, whose background in Shakespeare has ranged from working with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre of Great Britain, to the Artistic Directorship of the National Shakespeare Schools Festival.

This highly successful class will repeat the format of the previous two series' in its hands-on approach to text through both individual and ensemble work. The classes will be fun, hard-work, but most importantly accessible. This is Shakespeare in practice and Roust believes in a get-it-up-on-its-feet work ethic. To get the most out of this class you need to be willing to throw yourself in, to be brave and fearless with Shakespeare's words.

The classes will run twice weekly, for 3 hours per session, for four weeks from Monday February 2nd (8 sessions in total). The dates and venue are yet to be confirmed, so please check back to the website for updates. The cost of the class will be $400 - the fee may be paid in installments. However the maximum number of students per class is 16.

Students are asked to come along with a Shakespeare speech which they will work on in front of other students. They will also be given a number of scenes on which to work with other class members. During the eight sessions students will be challenged and supported on their journey with the texts they prepare, working in an informal setting.

If you think you're up for the challenge, then please register your interest at info@RoustTC.com
